Up at 3:45 a.m. home at 5:15 a.m.
It looked like it was going to be a great morning for photos. After a few days of stormy and wet weather, first one and then another weather service changed the Monday morning forecast to clearing skies and foggy patches dissipating throughout the morning.
As we approach the longest day of the year this far north, we blessed with very long days. Today the sun was to rise at 5:05 a.m. and set just after 10:00 p.m. I set the alarm for 3:45 a.m. hopeful that I’d be coming home with a fresh batch of summer photos. That was not to be. Drat! Burned by the weather man again.
I drove for an hour making a giant loop and returning home. All that I saw were heavily overcast skies and no fog. Even the low lying areas of a local river valley were devoid of fog. Here I am at 5:33 blogging about my morning trip.
They don’t all work the way that you hope for and that’s part of the allure of shooting landscapes.
