A Blog Worth Visiting… Photo Cascadia

It’s seldom that I’ve been to a photography blog where the sole reason for it’s existence was to pound you over head into submission to buy workshops, prints, filters or whatever else is photography related.

This morning while browsing Flickr, I saw a new post by west coast photographer Chip Phillips. Chip always has beautiful, striking and original images. He doesn’t post often but when he does the photos are exceptional. I clicked on Chip’s bio and noticed that he had a link to a blog.

The blog, Photo Cascadia, is written by a half a dozen talented people from the Pacific northwest. It’s a beautiful part of the world and their photos reflect that.

What I find refreshing is the writers of the blog freely share their processing and shooting techniques. No “secret” processes. The spirit of teaching and sharing is encouraged.

It is a blog that I encourage all to visit. Over the past few weeks I’ve removed a couple of links to photo blogs where the blog was more about selling than about photography. Really. Who wants to revisit an advertisement over and over and over again.

Check them out. You won’t be sorry that you did. I wasn’t.

Happy shooting,
