The beauty that is in your back yard
This morning might have been the most beautiful that I have experienced all summer!
A few moments ago I was on a very popular nature photography website. I usually check out the landscapes because that is what interests me. It is always informative to see what is being photographed and how. We take bits of this and bits of that from observing.
It seems that everyone lives in Iceland or Yosemite or Glacier National Park or in the mountains or rocky ocean coasts. No one lives where you and I do or at least if they do they don’t have cameras.
There was a lack of anything that seemed local. Everything was exotic. That might explain why where I live in a city of almost one million people I NEVER see anyone with a camera when I’m taking photos.
This morning was one of those special times that I wished that time would stand still. Everywhere I looked, turned or drove there seemed to be a photo waiting to be taken. From approximately 6:15 to 7:00 it was non stop shooting. There are photos to process for the next couple of days. It’s interesting going through the RAWs and seeing the progression of the day. From the predawn moments where the tops of the clouds are being lightly skimmed by pink sunlight to an hour later where the color of daylight is closer to 5500K.
All the windows were open in the Rav as I drove through wall after wall of fog, the smell of freshly mowed hay filling the air.
If you think that you need to travel faraway to be in awe of mother nature you are mistaken. It’s right here in our back yards. Have a great weekend and get out there!
